Questions

Ah, exploring is nice. I've taken to looking around the city, when I'm not working. Despite this being a very limited area, there always seems to be something new to see.

It did give me quite a few questions, though- and looking around at the City's posts, that's not too surprising. I've been reading back, looking at the things that have happened in the past. If anything, it may be more calm now than it was before. Scary to think that.

Now that I know more about the structure of this place, my thoughts turn to the people in it. So, citizens of this odd City- Who are you? What do you do? What can you do? Anything you're proud of? Ashamed of? I'd like to know.

Why, are you conducting a survey?

Just curious.

Why are you curious? ♥

I'm George. Who're you, then.

George? Hello, and it's nice to meet you. I'm Gabriel Sylar. I run a watch repair shop near building 12.

That was only one of my questions.

What makes someone curious? I'd like to know who I'm sharing space with, i suppose- what sort of people end up getting trapped in this City. If there's a pattern to it all, it might be interesting to see, don't you think?

Geezus, you expect me to tell you everything about me all at once? At least buy me dinner first.

When'd you get here, Gabriel.

I'm sorry. I'll remember that meals are standard for all questionnaires in the future. Anything you'd suggest, foodwise?

Almost two months ago, at this point. I spent a few weeks settling in, now I'm fairly comfortable here. When did you get here?

Date: 2007-09-28 07:25 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] makes-you-tick.livejournal.com
You certainly can. It makes this curse a little more interesting than some- it's the questions people have to pay attention to.

And who are you? I don't think I ever asked your name before.

Date: 2007-09-28 07:26 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] reaping-havoc.livejournal.com
I've got a rather hungering obsession for waffles, but oatmeal with raisins will do just as well.

Week and a couple of days. Still getting used to the curses, shit like that.

So what can you do?

Date: 2007-09-28 07:34 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] theenviousone.livejournal.com
Huh, what can you do?

Date: 2007-09-28 07:44 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] makes-you-tick.livejournal.com
Waffles it is, then.

I fix things. I'm quite good at it, actually.

Date: 2007-09-28 07:45 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] makes-you-tick.livejournal.com
I fix things, among other talents. My specialty is watches. How about you?

Date: 2007-09-28 07:47 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] theenviousone.livejournal.com
I kill things and screw with people's minds. It's fun.

Other talents?

Date: 2007-09-28 07:50 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] reaping-havoc.livejournal.com
I'm beginning to like you already.

No shit? Not just watches?

Date: 2007-09-28 08:02 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] makes-you-tick.livejournal.com
I aim to please.

I can fix pretty much anything, as long as I can find or make the right parts for it.

Date: 2007-09-28 08:04 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] makes-you-tick.livejournal.com
You do that just for fun?

Oh, yes. There's also telekinesis and induced radioactivity.

Date: 2007-09-28 08:06 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] reaping-havoc.livejournal.com
That's pretty cool. Wish I could do stuff like that.

Sometimes as part of my work, but usually for fun. Things get so boring when you never die.

Now those sound like fun powers to have. I'm quite happy with my own though.

What can you do? ♥ Then...?

Date: 2007-09-29 03:59 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] makes-you-tick.livejournal.com
I didn't think it was much at first, but I've come to appreciate it as time has gone by.

I'm exceptional at repairs and seeing how things work. I can break down an entire system into parts and methods.

How about you? What can you do?

Date: 2007-09-29 04:03 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] makes-you-tick.livejournal.com
Nice to meet you, Lyra, even if that was a little bit ago. And what do you spend your time in the City doing?

Date: 2007-09-29 04:04 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] makes-you-tick.livejournal.com
So you're ordered to kill sometimes? And you never die? How'd you manage that.

They are fun. What powers do you have?

Date: 2007-09-29 04:04 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] scienceinacan.livejournal.com
I'm a man of science! I can do many things! ♥

From: [identity profile] makes-you-tick.livejournal.com
You never know. Maybe I'd ask at just the right moment, and they'd crack and spill everything. It's always possible.

And who are you? I don't think I've met you before.

Learning stuff!

From: [identity profile] makes-you-tick.livejournal.com
Really? That's pretty impressive, then. I've always liked science. Any particular area of study?

Date: 2007-09-29 04:48 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] scienceinacan.livejournal.com
I have a PhD in Mechanical Engineering ♥

Good. Have you learned anything interesting lately?

Date: 2007-09-29 04:51 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] makes-you-tick.livejournal.com
My name is Sylar. Gabriel Sylar. Nice to meet you, Arion. And you're probably right about my questions. Still, it doesn't hurt to ask, does it?

Date: 2007-09-29 04:52 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] makes-you-tick.livejournal.com
Oh, I take it back, then. That is very impressive. I really should have looked into college at some point during my life.

Date: 2007-09-29 04:53 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] scienceinacan.livejournal.com
You never did?

Date: 2007-09-29 04:55 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] makes-you-tick.livejournal.com
Never ever. My father said I was 'destined to be a watchmaker'. He was a fool, and I was a fool for believing him.

Date: 2007-09-29 05:00 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] scienceinacan.livejournal.com
When you get back, you should try it!

Do you like being a watchmaker?

Date: 2007-09-29 05:02 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] reaping-havoc.livejournal.com
I can...eh. Separate souls from bodies, but I hear a lot of people can do that. Called shimigami, or something like it.

Date: 2007-09-29 05:36 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] makes-you-tick.livejournal.com
Perhaps I will.

I do, most times. But it's not enough.

Date: 2007-09-29 05:39 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] makes-you-tick.livejournal.com
Really? Is that useful for you? What are souls like?

Date: 2007-09-29 06:01 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] reaping-havoc.livejournal.com
Same as us. Only ghost-like. They can't pick stuff up but they can walk through walls and shit.

Date: 2007-09-29 06:10 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] makes-you-tick.livejournal.com
So they're like incorporeal consciousnesses? That's almost a relief.

Why do you separate them from their bodies?

Date: 2007-09-29 12:26 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] theenviousone.livejournal.com
Sometimes. Other times it's spying, and once I started a war. I enjoyed that particular mission.

I just don't, homunculi don't die.

Enhanced speed and senses, very strong, no need to eat or breathe or sleep or anything of that sort. Among...other things.

I didn't get your name?

Date: 2007-09-29 04:36 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] makes-you-tick.livejournal.com
They don't? Don't die at all? And the powers are very impressive.

I'm Sylar. Gabriel Sylar. Nice to meet you.

From: [identity profile] theenviousone.livejournal.com
No, unless they're weaker than usual and a particularly strong alchemist manages to trap them by making them even weaker. And besides the basic powers we each tend to have particular abilities.

Envy. Likewise.
