If I hadn't taken his abilities, hadn't spent those long hours studying, would I have gone back to my work? Continued my life as if nothing had happened? Would Suresh have found another, eventually, someone who satisfied his ideal of 'enhanced'?
It could've been so different.

That's what today's curse is about, yes? Regrets? Let's see how people respond.
It does make me think, however, about the only thing I really regret- my mother. If I'd known she was going to react that way, I could taken those scissors from her before she even got to me. I could thrown them across the room. I was too stunned she was fighting me. My own mother. She'd always wanted me to be something more, why didn't she understand? I'd never meant to scare her, I just wanted her to see how far I'd come. She hadn't been seeing it.
I suppose now she never will.
