I'm guessing today's a curse, because otherwise I would have taken a break at three. That's okay, though. These are going to be so useful.

Anthony, can I borrow your warehouse space for a few hours? I won't get in the way.

[ooc: Yep, Sylar's cursed. He's been building since the curse began, starting from tiny mechanical insects to larger, dog-sized clockwork walking mechanisms, eventually tried some giant, wind-based creatures. He is now in the process of building great big steel creatures, running off a combination of electricity and good old winding. The larger creatures have appendages for picking up and carrying things and Sylar is very pleased with all of them. Feel free to find/run from/get picked up by any of these anywhere in the City.]

Sure. You don't even have to ask.

You working on something?

Thanks, Anthony. That's it. I wanted somewhere I could weld. I'm looking forward to showing my creations off to you, as well.

Okay, I'll stay away from the warehouse, if you want it to be a surprise...

No, come on over, if you'd like. I already finished quite a few, you'd probably get the idea anyway.

Great. I love looking at new designs.

I think you'll like these. I've included at least a few things you've taught me this past month- although I admit, a great deal of it is clockwork in larger proportions.

Then I definitely want to see the results.

You are working on something more interesting than the standard clock, aren't you.

You could certainly say that. I'm building automatons, easily controlled but also with the capability of being fully independent. I just got struck with the idea today.

...automatons? What do they do?

It depends on what I want them to do. The smaller ones can fly around and get into places. The larger ones can do things like clear streets, cart large objects. Oh- I could make a few for construction work, maybe work up to finer motor control. There's really no end to what they're capable of.

How have you been, by the way? Do you have this creation bug, too?

No end, hm? They sound useful, Sylar. If you make a few more, we could use them for Millennium.

Not that I've noticed! I had an enjoyable strange enjoyable weekend, otherwise everything has been rather quiet for a while. That certainly needs changing, doesn't it. Yourself?

Don't they sound useful? Maybe I will. I'll have quite a few built by the end of the day, and maybe I'll be able to keep it up after the curse ends. After all, the designs won't be lost on me then. Any requests?

Glad to hear it- of course, except for the quiet. Although sometimes we need the quiet to emphasize the noise, don't you think? I lost someone to a trip home recently, but otherwise I've been doing well. Today's been especially good for lifting my spirits.

Oh, how splendid! Though hard to say, hard to say. The small flying one has my attention, but if you come up with anything else, I'm also interested.

Emphasize the noise, yes, or rather the lack of noise until it's quite painful- Being productive can do wonders for one's mood! And it's always unfortunate when they simply vanish. I hope it was no one too important.

I can send a couple in your general direction. The small ones look like big beetles or hummingbirds. I haven't made these for a year or two, it's been nice to get back to.

It was someone important, but I've lost important people before. I'm not alone yet, I'll survive.

Very appreciated, thank you! Big beetles will do nicely. ...Would it be possible to install a camera in them, too?

Besides, if you were alone, I'd also be gone home by now, wouldn't I.

Like a pinhole camera? That's why they have a hollow compartment. Well, that and to carry messages.

Very true, Rip. I'm glad you're still here.

Messages, too? That is getting better and better! I can't wait to see them.

Waiting, waiting, we're here to stay, Sylar.

Today's a curse?

Seems to be. Have you been feeling like making something today?

Unless it's the most amazing sandwich ever created, I'd say you're not cursed. So you don't have to worry about it.

But- ah, let me know if any wooden walking machines start coming toward your house? I'll turn them around for you.

...Thanks? It's probably not a good shelf day, is it?

Sure. And- oh, right. No, I think I'm going to be busy all day today, unfortunately. And these aren't the sort of things I can display in a case.

From: [identity profile] makes-you-tick.livejournal.com
Not really- I've been doing most of it with telekinesis. But if you'd like to come by, we do have plenty of tools at the warehouse. We could work together. Anthony's probably curious, too.

Yeah, yeah, we could! [And Xander could be his assistant...curse? what curse?]

That's the spirit. I'll send you directions by bug.

[he writes them down and rolls them up, sticking them inside a small mechanical beetle, which will be making its way to Xander's front door in a few minutes, thunking against it heavily when it attaches itself.]

Oh, there might be a small mess- I did leave a few gears on the kitchen counter. I'll clean it up as soon as today's over. But I was able to move most of it to my shop.

A mess isn't a problem, as long as nothing's likely to jump out of the refrigerator or anything.

[ooc; for the record he is inviting Dexter to crash on their couch, if that's okay? |D I'd mention IC but this is before that so. <3]

No, nothing like that. You don't have to be careful.

[ooc: That's perfectly fine! Sylar remembers Dexter from before and liked him quite a bit. He'd probably offer his own bed, at least for a night (he doesn't sleep much anyway).]
